  • Maternity Leave Occupational Therapist


    Position Summary and Overview
    The Churchill School & Center, a K-12 school for students with language-based learning disabilities, is seeking a maternity leave Occupational Therapist to work with students in Grades 6 to 9 for hire from August 2024 - February 2025.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    • Demonstrate commitment to Churchill’s mission and core values
    • Embrace and model Churchill’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion 
    • Work collaboratively with the lower school and upper school teams including teachers, other related service providers and specialists to plan and implement services related to our students’ curriculum, units of study, projects and activities
    • Plan and implement innovative and targeted treatment sessions for pull out/push in models, including small group, large group, or whole class
    • Write daily treatment notes and semiannual report cards

  • Registrar


    Position Summary and Overview

    The Churchill School & Center, a K-12 school for students with language-based learning disabilities, is seeking a Registrar for an immediate opening. Reporting to the Assistant Head of School, the Registrar works collaboratively with the Lower and Upper School Division Directors, Chief Enrollment and Strategy Officer, Chief Technology Officer, and Director of College Counseling. The primary focus of this position is maintaining accurate and confidential academic records, as well as preparing student and faculty schedules.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Demonstrate commitment to Churchill’s mission and core values

    • Manage and maintain Blackbaud student information system. This includes roster management, schedule accuracy, attendance support, user account creation, query support and more
    • Support Lower School and Upper School schedule creation
    • Establish and coordinate all scheduling-related tasks and communications for the school, including but not limited to database setup, course requests/changes, teaching assignments, course offerings, and daily schedules
    • Manage Registrar-related functions, including records requests, grading, report card distribution, and transcript generation

  • Director of Athletics


    Position Summary and Overview
    The Churchill School and Center, seeks an experienced, full-time Director of Athletics.     

    This position reports directly to the Head of School and will be responsible for leading, innovating, and inspiring a positive school-wide culture around athletics and physical activity.  In addition to overseeing the administration, communication, and supervision of Churchill’s engagement in interscholastic athletics and our involvement with the Independent School Athletic League (ISAL) and The New York State Association of Independent Schools (NYSAIS), the Director will partner and collaborate with Churchill’s Physical Education Department, providing part-time instruction as assigned.

    The Director of Athletics will be a positive and visible presence in the Churchill Community, actively engaging in the life of the School and serving as an ambassador for visiting teams and families.  This is an 11-month, non-exempt position that follows the academic calendar.  Weekend and evening hours will be required at times.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    • Holding true to Churchill’s Mission, Vision, and Principles.
    • Coordinating seasonal interscholastic sports, including coordinating with the ISAL and NYSAIS, student-athletes, school professionals, and parents.
    • Develop and review athletics policies and expectations for student athletes, school professionals, and parents.
    • Maintaining and updating seasonal sports events, rosters, and practice schedules
    • Hiring seasonal sports coaches
    • Managing annual athletics budget
    • Reserve transportation for athletic events as necessary.
    • Reserve external practice facilities as necessary. 
    • Represent Churchill at league meetings and NYSAIS athletic events.
    • Provide general assistance for athletic events on campus, including evening and weekend hours as necessary.
    • Purchase and maintain athletics equipment and uniforms.
    • Partnering with the Physical Education Department, teaching and/or assisting in classes and necessary or assigned.
    • Working with coaches to plan the awards banquet.

    Qualifications
    The ideal candidate will have:
    • Bachelor’s degree, Masters preferred.
    • 5 years of experience in a similar role.
    • Previous coaching experience at the high school level or higher.
    • Strong organizational skills.
    • Strong communications skills and ability to differentiate between student athletes, school professionals, and parents.

  • School Nurse


    Position Summary and Overview
    The Churchill School & Center, a K-12 school for students with language-based learning disabilities, is seeking a school second nurse to join the health team. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the nurse is responsible for the daily management and coordination of school health services, communicating and collaborating with the community and providing preventative, acute and follow up care for students. Serving as a liaison to families and staff on health and wellness issues, the nurse will play an integral role in supporting an optimal physical, mental, emotional and social climate promoting an environment that is positive and student centered. This is a full time 10 month position beginning on August 19, 2024.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    • Demonstrate commitment to Churchill’s mission and core values

    • Provide health and emergency care to students and staff in a two-building campus between the hours of 10am-6pm.
    • Administer medications and treatments as indicated and prescribed by a healthcare provider.
    • Administer first aid and provide emergency and preventative care to students and staff.
    • Identify and assess students health needs, implementing services and evaluating care plans to achieve optimum student learning and safety.
    • Collaborate with school psychologists to assess and address physical and emotional needs of students.
    • Develop individual healthcare plans and modifications for students with special health care needs.
    • Inform and educate appropriate faculty and staff regarding student allergies and medical conditions.
    • Prepare and maintain accurate cumulative health records for each student including NYS mandated immunization and communicable disease control requirements. 
    • Record, compile and report data as required by the NYS and NYC Department of Health.
    • Document and communicate all health services provided for accidents.
    • Record and log all student and staff health related visits to the nurses office.
    • Review health appraisals and sports clearance forms for student athletes prior to the season.
    • Provide relevant medical information to the athletic director and /or coaches.
    • Act as a liaison between the school and home regarding student health issues.
    • Provide staff and community educational opportunities as needed.
    • Participate as a member of The Churchill School Emergency Management and Crisis Team.
    • Demonstrate sensitivity, exercise sound judgement and maintain confidentiality when working with students and families.
    • Demonstrate outstanding interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
    • Maintain a clean, orderly and safe office including a regular inventory of supplies.

  • Certified Athletic Trainer


    Position Summary and Overview
    The Churchill School & Center, a K-12 school for students with language-based learning disabilities, is seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer to join the health team. Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the Certified Athletic Trainer is responsible for the health and well-being of student athletes through the care and prevention of athletic injuries.  This is a part time, 10 month position beginning in August 2022. Hours will generally be M-F from 2:00PM-6:00PM. Hours may vary per game and practice schedule.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    • Demonstrate commitment to Churchill’s mission and core values

    • Deliver on-site athletic training services including in-person coverage for scheduled team practices and home competitions as necessary
    • Evaluate injuries and develops treatment and exercise plans within the NYS scope of practice

    • Provide protective taping, bracing, preliminary evaluation and referral services to appropriate medical professionals
