Parents Association

Welcome to the Churchill School and Center Parents Association

Our families are an integral part of our #OneChurchill Community. The Churchill School Parents Association strives to bring together families, students, and school professionals in order to support the social and academic growth of our children. Since Churchill families reside all over the city and beyond, opportunities that bring us together are even more essential. Every Churchill family is a member of the Churchill Parents Association

Dear Families,

I hope you all had a wonderful summer, and welcome to the 2022-2023 School Year at Churchill! My name is Melissa Friedman, and I am very excited to serve as the Parents Association President this year.
While every year at Churchill is special, this school year is particularly meaningful because we are celebrating the school’s 50th anniversary. It is wonderful to know that Churchill has been helping kids with language-based learning challenges thrive for 50 years, and I certainly hope it will continue to do so for at least 50 more!
One of the things that makes Churchill so special is the incredible community of families. When we started at Churchill, I knew my son would be in a caring and ideal learning environment, but I had no idea how friendly and supportive the Churchill families would be as well. It is something I am continually grateful for.
In that vein, we are looking forward to creating more opportunities for families to connect outside of school. Under Allison Jupiter’s dedicated leadership, the PA found new ways to get together even with the challenges of the last few years. I am hoping to build upon the activities we have had in the past like Quiz Night, the Book Fair, and the Spring Festival and plan additional opportunities for individual grades and neighborhoods to come together. We will have Coffee in the Churchill Courtyard on September 7th. We will also be having a Fall Festival on October 2nd. And stay tuned for many more events throughout the year.
We found that our virtual PA Meetings provided more families with the opportunity to attend so we will be continuing them through Zoom. Our first official PA Meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 12th, from 9-10 am.
We will also continue with the Gratitude Fund to provide monetary gifts around the holidays to the enormously dedicated and thoughtful school professionals. Please consider contributing to this fund as well to say thanks.
Also, if you are interested in joining a committee, helping as a Grade Representative, or volunteering at an event, please email us at pa@churchillschoolnyc.org.
Lastly, these occasions would not be possible without your PA dues. Click on the link to the right for more information about your PA dues.

Thank you, and looking forward to a wonderful school year,
