Our parents are an integral part of our #OneChurchill Community. The Churchill School Parents Association strives to bring together parents, students, faculty and administrators, in order to support the social and academic growth of our children. Since Churchill families reside all over the city and beyond, opportunities that bring us together are even more essential.
My name is Allison Jupiter, and I am extremely honored to serve another term as the President of the Churchill Parents Association for the 2020-2021 academic year. Even though my first year was unconventional, it further solidified what an amazing community Churchill is. Our families came together in an amazingly supportive manner, whether by reaching out to check in on other students and teachers, donating to Churchill Cares, or creating videos and digital cards during Virtual Teacher Appreciation Week. I am so thankful to be part of this team.
During this academic year, Churchill will be offering both virtual and in-person learning. While that can change in this current climate, one thing I know for sure is that our families will come together. The PA may look different this year, but we will still have PA meetings and events.
Similar to last year, we will have nine PA meetings. Two of the meetings will have a general focus (October 7th and May 12th), two will focus on Elementary School (November 9th and February 10th), two will focus on Middle School (December 2nd and March 3rd), and two will focus on High School (January 13th and April 8th). Please stay tuned for further details.
We will also try to have virtual and physically distanced in-person events for parents and students. These will be determined by the health and safety of our families and will be planned with those factors in mind.
Your PA dues will continue to be utilized for events celebrating our school professionals, like the Staff Orientation Luncheon on August 31st and activities during Teacher Appreciation Week. In the past, these funds have also been used to help offset the costs of PA sponsored events such as Quiz Night and Division Cocktail Parties. We have also contributed to programs such as self-esteem workshops for the Elementary School, the High School Prom, and Churchill Cares. Please click the link to the right to pay your 2020-2021 dues.
One change for this year is our Holiday Fund will now be called the Gratitude Fund for School Professionals and will be given to all of our school professionals before Thanksgiving so they can utilize that money for their families during the holidays. If you would like to give to the Gratitude Fund for School Professionals, please click the link to the right. All funds need to be collected by November 1, 2020.
There are many ways you can participate in the Parents Association. If you would like more information on how to get involved with the PA, please look at our page on Churchill's portal or email us at email@example.com. Currently, we are looking for Grade Representatives. If you would like to volunteer for this important role, please email us or fill out the form on the PA Portal. I look forward to seeing you all soon, whether it is virtually or in-person.
