The Partnering for Safety Community Wall

OneChurchill Community Pledge

Now, more than ever, as members of the OneChurchill Community, we must all work together to ensure the health and well-being of each other. We all have a shared responsibility to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Our ability to offer in-person instruction on campus depends upon adherence to an evolving set of protocols and procedures designed to keep students, and school professionals as safe as possible while the risk of COVID-19 exists.

Keeping everyone safe is a team effort. To that end, we are asking that every family and school professional take the OneChurchill Community Pledge.

As you know, we are taking extensive precautions during the school day to reduce risk to students and school professionals as best we can. The safety of all requires community members to partner with us in our efforts outside of school as well.

This pledge is a symbol of our unity and a true representation of our core values:

Kindness ● Respect ● Integrity ● Perseverance ● Responsibility

As a member of the OneChurchill Community, I pledge to comply with Churchill’s Safety Protocols and to commit to the following best practices at all times until otherwise advised:
  • Follow Federal, State, and Local Orders: I will adhere to the directives of applicable federal, state, and local government health departments, including the CDC, regarding travel, social distancing, and any other measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
  • Stay Home if Sick: If my student is sick or exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, I will keep them out of school until a) their symptoms resolve, b) they test negative for COVID-19, or c) they complete a two-week quarantine period at home. I understand that remote instruction will be available to students unable to be at school. As a school professional at Churchill, if I am sick or exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, I will stay home until a) my symptoms resolve, b) I test negative for COVID-19, or c) I complete a two-week quarantine period at home.
  • Stay Home if Exposed: If I believe my student has been exposed to someone infected with COVID-19, I will keep them out of school for at least two weeks. I understand that the School may require a two-week quarantine in case of exposure at school. As a school professional at Churchill, if I believe I have been exposed to someone infected with COVID-19, I will not report to school for at least two weeks. I understand that the School may require a two-week quarantine in case of exposure at school.
  • Travel: I will avoid unnecessary travel. If anyone in my household has traveled to a COVID-19 “hot spot” designated by the CDC, I will immediately notify the School and keep my student home for at least two weeks.
  • Symptom Reporting: I will follow procedures for reporting symptoms and temperature utilizing the RUVNA app before coming to school each day. I understand my student may be sent home at the School’s discretion if their temperature or symptoms warrant.
  • Face Masks: I will send my student to school with a clean face mask each day, and all of the members of my household will wear face coverings in public. As a school professional at Churchill, I will report to work with a clean facemask each day, and all of the members of my household will wear face coverings in public.
  • Gatherings: I will refrain from attending large gatherings, either indoor or outdoor. When attending smaller gatherings I will wear a mask and socially distance myself appropriately.
  • Hygiene: I will practice and reinforce proper hand-washing, and respiratory hygiene at home.
  • Personal Items: I will minimize the items my student brings to school and reinforce policies around sharing food, supplies, and other items with others.
  • Medical Forms & Emergency Contacts: I will submit my student’s medical forms prior to the first day of school. I will provide at least two contacts who are able to pick up my student from school within one hour of being notified that my student has become ill.

I understand that to protect the health and safety of all, the Head of School has the authority to implement the following measures at any time:

  • Close School
  • Cancel scheduled events, activities, or meetings
  • Conduct some or all classes via remote instruction
  • Adjust drop-off or pick-up times
  • Modify class sizes, locations, and/or scheduling
  • Control access to buildings and limiting visitors
