Admissions Application Information

We are accepting applications for the 2019-2020 school year for Kindergarten, only.  Grades 1 through 9 are currently full for the 2019-2020 school year.  Although we accept applications year-round for all grades, we are only reviewing applications for grades 1 through 9 when/if a spot becomes available.

You should apply to these grades, but please read the following carefully:
  1. To apply, click the “Apply Now” button located on this page
  2. Complete the application
  3. Upload your child’s evaluation and any other supporting documents
  4. Upon receipt of your completed application, your application will be kept on file and placed in a waitpool. If a space becomes available in your grade, the Admissions Committee reviews ALL* candidates on file and determines what student(s) will proceed to the next step in the admission process.
*Note: Preference is given to those applications completed and submitted by the priority deadlines: Grades 5-9, December 14, 2018 and Grades K-4, February 1, 2019.

Admissions FAQ

List of 5 frequently asked questions.

  • What happens if an opening doesn’t happen this year?

If no spots become available, the family will have the option to reactivate their application for the following school year. If your application is for a grade for which there are no immediate openings again, you will go on a new waitpool list. If your application is for a grade with immediate openings, as long as the psychological evaluation and any supporting documents are still current*, it is likely you will proceed with the Admissions Process.

*The date of the neuropsychological report must be within two years of the date of reactivation.
  • What grades have immediate openings?

During a normal admissions year, the following is a list of our openings:
    • Kindergarten: 10-12 openings
    • 2nd Grade: 10-12 openings
    • 4th grade: 10-12 openings
    • 9th grade: 1-3 openings
Please know these numbers are not definitive. They can fluctuate due to attrition or other factors.
  • How many students are in the waitpool?

The waitpool increases/decreases on almost a daily basis.
  • When will Churchill know if a position opens?

There is no time frame when a family lets us know they may not be returning to Churchill. The Admissions Office could be notified at any time during the year.
  • How will families know if a position opens?

The Admissions Office is in constant contact with those families in the waitpool. Every few weeks, an email is sent to the waitpool list to keep them informed and updated. If a position opens, the Admissions Office only notifies those families selected by the Admissions Committee.
